Chropera is entirely different browser. Not just technically, but ideologically. I won't call it the worst or the best from the Chromoium-based category, but it's just nothing to do with the "real" Opera.

The real Opera is the one that is being developed, the other is just past that some does not want to forget.

So long as THE FIRST browser exists, the "new Opera" is an impostor, Sidney.

Yes, the "new" Opera is an imposter, a usurper, lock it up! Get rid of it!

Well... that's not going to happen, so wake up and smell the coffee. You and a few hundred others can whine all you like but that will not change a thing. Opera Presto is dead in terms of no longer being developed nor will it be. If you want to use it be my guest. Understand that as I said earlier, you are going to run into sites that will not render properly and this will happen on an increasing NOT decreasing basis. If you want to engage in juvenile name-calling (i.e. Chopera) then understand that you will be perceived as spoiled children calling names on a school playground and as such you will be dismissed. If you have special features you miss, post them "respectfully" in the Suggestion Box where developers will see them and consider them. Posting nasty comments like naughty children will not win you any friends among the developer community.

For Christs sake, just bring side panel (preferably accessible via extensions API), and users will make new Opera into old one. Bookmarks, Vertical arrangement of tabs, Notes and so on. Slimjet browser has already a sidepanel with bookmarks, so Opera devs YOU should WAKE UP or your browser will die in few years! Your browser can do nothing more than any other Chromium (blink based) browser

I just came across this article:

"Time to move on: Final patch for Opera 12 due by mid-2014

Summary: Opera appears to have made up its mind on the question of updates for Opera 12: the last will come by mid-2014, along with an automatic update that will push millions over to the new browser.

The old Opera is the imposter because the new Opera is the main.

I've been patiently trying to get that message across now for a long time. Evidently a few still insist that Opera will somehow reverse all engines and head back into oblivion with an updated Presto. It's not going to happen. Presto is effectively dead in the water and what remains while still functional will soon be dead so isn't it time to learn to adapt and move with the times?

Maybe not if the current times tend to dumb down things

In your case it is clear that adaptation is going well

Maybe some, who knows, just dreams and hopes...
What we want is those few features that are gone in new Opera. And we are not few, we are in thousands.

isn't it time to learn to adapt and move with the times?

                                No.
People will use Opera 12 till nothing will display in it. Look, there are still people using Firefox 3, why would you even think that everyone will move to something that is really buggy, unpolished and overall inferior in features?

I just want a browser that has a left side panel that stays put that shows all my millions of bookmarks so I can easily click on them when I want to. Also I really liked the old Opera feature where you could click on the left side margin and make the side panel disappear and then appear again. Put those features in the new Opera, please. Otherwise I don't see what it's good for. Might as well use Chrome, no? I think many people feel this way..

Panels are a thing of the past. Suites are a thing of the past (i.e. integrated mail client). People who continue to use FF 3 are quite frankly... idiots. No doubt there are several thousand still using Netscape and there's equally no doubt that most of those boxes have been severely compromised. A few thousand who cling to the past is meaningless in terms of the millions who have already embraced the new browser. Hey, if running an old browser floats your boat, then more power to you. I have no vested interest one way or the other. In other words, I don't care what you choose to use. But I do care that you clog up a help forum with useless threads. This forum is for those seeking help. If you want to offer suggestions, make them in the Suggestion box folder. If you want to make comments about the forum, put them into the forum feedback folder. But starting useless threads in which you demean Opera developers, call them juvenile names, tell us you're going to leave for another browser (... then leave... why make an overly dramatic soapbox speech?), all of this simply detracts from the intent of the forum - to HELP those who have SPECIFIC needs with their browser.

On a forum can also write your disappointment. And it does, is an idiot? Also, I'm going to Chrome Opera, if it contains largely the most features of Opera 12. Sometime it is in version 40 or 50+

And for you: Don't hijack other people's threads.

Another one-timer who signed up to tell us he's leaving. Whatever. If you have disappointments, put your suggestions in the Suggestion Box. Crying and wringing your hands here doesn't do anyone any good (unless this is some sort of psychological release for you). It's a browser not a way of life. Get a grip.
