Changed fonts in some sites

Hello,
I just upgraded to Opera 25 and I quickly noticed some of the sites I visit frequently have a different font. For example, Reddit. I used a Firefox screenshot to illustrate how it looked before:
I just noticed IE 11 looks like Opera 25.
The site's CSS says "font-family: verdana, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;", and Firefox reports it's using Verdana. May the Verdana version differ from one browser to another?
It's not something that bothers me much but as I couldn't find any discussion on this, I wanted to know if I was the only one that noticed this or had this behavior.
Regards,
Andrew
PS: I will use this thread for a small comment: looking for a clue in the changelogs, I noticed that Opera 25's changelog states "Opera 24 includes updates to the latest Chromium/Blink release, version 37". Link.

Yep, that fixed it. Thanks!
I saw the other topic about the guy with the "bold" fonts problem who also solved it disabling this, but for some reason I didn't think this would work for me too. Was it disabled in Opera 24?
Does DirectWrite actually do any good?

Thank you guys. I had the same problem like alobpreis. Fixed now with the help of deaddy64. I don`t like the new fonts, they are smaller, so the old ones are much better.
