Alternatives to lack of tab bar placement

Since Opera doesn't seem to be interested in customising the GUI to allow vertical tab bar placement on left or right side, we need an alternative. The reason I'd like the tab bar placed on the right hand side of the window is because I often have too many tabs to easily pick the one I want from a horizontal tab bar. An alternative solution would be a mouse gesture and keyboard short cut that exposed all the tabs similar to Mac OS X' Mission Control.
Can you please start customising the GUI to make new Opera more usable?

I finally moved from Opera 12 to Opera 23, and I really really miss vertical tabs (and integrated email client).
So that's good to hear ! -

Hi,
I'm still using Opera 12.17, as there is no browser which can handle 50 or more tab bars on the left & "wrap multiple lines".I just installed the latest v24.x version and uninstalled it again because it does the same crap lining them in one row on the top. It's hard to understand why so many unique features in v12.17 were not added to the latest versions.

used opera for as long as i can remember. now switched to using firefox with tree style tab extension as it supports tab bar placement left and am quite happy with it. please bring vertical tab bar placement back to opera as it's pretty useless without it for poweruser who's gotten used to it.

Agree entirely, the whole reason me to use Opera was the tab bar placement and the better handling of some sites, but without the tab bar placement, Opera is now waste of time for me.
I thought it was only the Redmond giant that invented new ways to annoy users. -

When I opened 12.17 today I got a note that a new version is available (again). I went and installed 26.0 and was (again) disappointed. I wholeheartedly agree that the tab placement and thumbnail option is the reason why 12.17 is still my No.1 browser. Computer screens get super-extra-ultimate-wide and then we have ribbons and tabs still locked at the top and bottom. Soon we will only have a narrow slot to read 3 lines at once.

Hi, I agree. Vertical tab placement is a great feature. Please bring it back to Opera. Thanks in advance!
