cannot reset opera account password

Because i cannot remember my password, I am trying to reset it by entering my username or email address.
When I try to reset, it does not recognize my account name or my email address.
It's strange, because I am IN the account and looking right at my username and email address. Yet, I am getting an "invalid" response when I try to reset using either.
Any help or suggestions? Am I missing something with this process.

yes, my browser does remember my password and auto-fills it. However, I do not know how to get the password out of that browser for use on other machines.
