Fallback to earlier Opera

Why not first disable all of your extensions, reboot and see if the issue remains. I only say that because I'm also using Opera 24 with no reduction in speed whatsoever. If that does not work, I would try and re-install before a rollback.

"rolling back" isn't a real option anyway since you will be auto-updated right away on next restart again... ^^

I'm not sure why everyone is being so condescending here.
I've noticed a fairly large problem with opera being slower than usual under 24, especially when making or closing tabs. It's extremely noticeable.
I'm running the same addons before 24, and from what I suspect is the hover preview feature, though I can't be sure precisely, closing tabs seems to take a bit longer than before.

@s0beit then make a test, disable the tab previews in the settings and restart Opera. You don't need to rollback because of this.

Well, having tested this whole "non-existent" problem some more, I can safely say Opera 24 is having definite problems with several websites running different forms of forum software. As I am a moderator on two forums I probably will have to change browsers once more, which is too bad, cause I was starting to adapt to "new" Opera.

PS I tried disabling "everything", but that' didn't bring the necessary "relief" either, sadly...

@hirazi, Have you tried the 25 developer build ?, It's suppose to sort out some of the problems people are experiencing when using 24.

Worth a try, and can be installed 'side by side' with the stable build.

@linuxmint7 - That's an interesting suggestion. I will have to try this. Thanks!

@linuxmint7 - Is there an easy way to migrate all/some extensions to "developer" in one easy go?

Okay, I more or less figured it out (and did most of the transfer manually), but as it turns out even Opera.Next improves significantly on the forum-situation. Still some problems, but this really helped. So: a good suggestion and much appreciated
