Gesture for Opening link in New Tab ?

I am trying an upgrade to Windows 8.1 and Opera 23 (previous favorite release was O 11.64). I have to say that I am not liking either as both Windows and O are now missing some of my favorite functionality.
I used to be able to hover over a link and gesture down to open a link in a new tab. Now it just opens a new virgin tab. To open it with the link I suddenly have to use the menu bar. Is there a way to turn this functionality back on ?

You might try an Opera extension like MoreGestures https://addons.opera.com/en/extensions/details/moregestures/?display=en
MoreGestures performs link-drag and mousewheel gestures similar to those in Opera 12. These gestures open links in new tabs, navigate between tabs, and shows link text.
Currently supported gestures:
Mouse Wheel
RightClick+Scroll Up
RightClick+Scroll Down
Link Drags
RightClick+Drag Up
RightClick+Drag Down
RightClick+HoldAlso Smooth Gestures for Chrome is popular, and might help if MoreGestures isn't good for you.
To download a Chrome extension easily, you need the Opera extension, called Download Chrome Extension, https://addons.opera.com/en/extensions/details/download-chrome-extension-9/?display=en
or Extension Source Viewer, https://addons.opera.com/en/extensions/details/extension-source-viewer/
You can always easily uninstall an extension if it doesn't have what you want.
