I use gesturefy to make a shortcut to copy a web page url to clipboard by right-click and drag left. this works perfect in firefox/brace etc, but even though the text pops up to say it's activated the shortcutc, the url never hits the clipboard; same page in another browser it works fine.

I've tried Crxmouse, and any other mouse shortcut tools i coudl find; all of them behave like they are working, but don't; the only was that works is right-click "copy url" in opera itself.

Anyone else got this issue and is there a way round it?

Could be an Opera permission issue with how extensions access the clipboard. Check whether the extension has clipboard permissions and try testing it on a regular webpage rather than an internal Opera page. If it still happens with multiple extensions, it may be an Opera-specific limitation or bug.

@malcolmparkedhere thanks for the suggestion; i'm not actually testing on an internal operara page, i've tried it on multiple websites; all of which work using the exact method in brave/chrome etc.

I run in private mode and most of the time with vpn on; but i've tried with it off as well with the same results.

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the plugin tonight; it asked for extra permissions when configuring the "copy link URL" shortcut. I agreed to that, i also went into the extensions config and exnsured that it's able to work when in private mode and specifically set the clipboard permissions to allow, same problem.

I have also tried completely disdabling the clipboard/paste protect mode and adding a site url as an exception instead, but that has no effect.

Any other suggestions would be appreciated - i can't see this issue being a feature as it would be pretty restrictive!

The only other thing i thought about was maybe it was ESET AV causing it - but again it works with every other browser
