Syncing/Importing Bookmarks

I mostly use my home laptop as my primary PC. As such, my primary set of bookmarks is on that PC.
- I would love to sync with my other two laptops, but I hate that Sync is a two-way street. Is there a way to make it a one-way street, where it sees my home laptop as the source and all bookmark updates are derived from it.
- Alternatively, is there a way to do an overwrite on importing bookmarks, so that I do not have to delete my entire set of bookmarks before importing a new set that has been exported from my main PC?
I guess this is probably a wish-list more than a question, because I am pretty sure the answers to both are: NO!

You are right on both counts, I am afraid. Sync is two-way only, with no setting to make one laptop the master source, and importing a bookmarks file merges with what is already there rather than replacing it.
The closest manual workaround I have used is to treat the home laptop as the master by exporting its bookmarks regularly, then, on each other laptop, back up its current bookmarks first, delete the existing set, and only then import the exported file. It is fiddly, and it is worth keeping Sync switched off on those laptops while you do it, otherwise a deletion on one machine can spread to the others.
If you do turn Sync back on afterwards, it will merge again, so it only really works as a one-off tidy-up rather than a lasting one-way arrangement. Keeping a dated export from the home laptop is still the safest safety net before you delete anything.

@johnymacclen Thanks. Yeah, that is what I do, too, when I remember. Maybe I need to find a way to teach an AI bot to do it all for me. LOL

One extra safeguard that has saved me when doing this kind of one-off tidy-up is to check the other laptops first for any bookmarks that only exist there. Before clearing anything, I move those few items into a clearly named folder, or export that laptop's set as well, so they are not lost in the reset. I also do one laptop at a time and check the result before moving to the next one, rather than repeating the same steps on both straight away. That way, if something does not import as expected, you still have a clean copy to work from and you have not affected the other machine.
