Sync option is back?

In the recent iOS release, I noticed the sync option for bookmarks and speed dials, which seems like the start of implementing the sync feature. If bookmarks can be synced, why not history and tabs across devices? It’s probably planned for the roadmap! The current tab syncing is quite confusing, with all tabs from different devices mixed together.

Unfortunately, syncing seems to be happening in only one direction: bookmarks from mobile aren't making their way to the desktop. I really hope Opera addresses this soon and enables full syncing—including history and open tabs.
Come on, Opera. Why keep users hanging for years over such a critical feature? It’s starting to feel like the kind of delay we expect from governments, not tech platforms.

@appsire if other browsers can have full sync on iOS I don’t see why Opera can’t

I found this thing ridiculus, it is like an half update. What does it mean that i can sync bookmarks only from pc to mobile and not also vice versa? Why?

Full 2-way Sync is now fully available in latest releases from 6.6.0 and forward.
https://blogs.opera.com/mobile/2026/07/opera-one-for-ios-tab-media-controls-full-synchronization/
The reason why Sync took some time was due to the fact that Opera on other platforms rely on Chromium sync. The Opera Browser for iOS app is not built on the Chromium code base. So the entire sync feature had to be written from scratch and integrate with the very complex chromium sync logic and mechanisms.
Note: The ability to sign in to Opera and sync one-way (i.e. import data from your Opera account and continuously be up to date with your other browsers) has been available since last year.

@jonaballen Thanks for your reply and putting the efforts to bring the two-way sync which is essential. But, still there are gaps to make the iOS version more productive. Showing the workspaces and organize the tabs as we see on the desktop. Now it shows the tabs from the workspace I select on the PC not all the tabs from other workspaces. It's better to show the workspaces and the tabs organized in list view. Currently, it tabs are shown as the regular active tabs opened on the mobile device. The active tabs shows with the website thumbnail but the synced tabs are showing with no thumbnail. While showing either it should load the thumbnail automatically or display the synced tabs in list view with the website icon. Another major sync option missing is the history. I hope these things will be addressed.
