      Hi there,

I want to fully remove the Scite_ extension from my Opera browser on MacOS. I have removed the extension from the browser by clicking on the extension in the extension list and pressing 'remove', but the Scite_'s popup window and the links on Google Scholar still appear after I restarted Opera and the laptop.

I could not find any instructions online on how to stop this.

      I would appreciate your help.

I don't know what Scite_ is, but have you searched your computer for all things that contain that string? There have been a couple of times when I wanted to remove everything from a particular developer from my computer, so I just deleted everything I found with their name in it.

Are you talking about https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/scite/homifejhmckachdikhkgomachelakohh? If so, you should be able to goto the URL opera://extensions and remove it if it's still there. If it's not there, maybe you just need to goto the URL opera://settings/clearBrowserData and clear "Cached images and files" for all time.

@burnout426 Yes, this is the one. Thank you so much for your piece of advice. Clearing the cache worked. The addon is gone. Thanks!
