I want to fully remove the Scite_ extension from my Opera browser on MacOS. I have removed the extension from the browser by clicking on the extension in the extension list and pressing 'remove', but the Scite_'s popup window and the links on Google Scholar still appear after I restarted Opera and the laptop.

I could not find any instructions online on how to stop this.

I would appreciate your help.

Thank you so much for your piece of advice. Clearing the cache worked. The addon is gone. Thanks!

If so, you should be able to goto the URL
opera://extensions
and remove it if it's still there. If it's not there, maybe you just need to goto the URL
opera://settings/clearBrowserData
and clear "Cached images and files" for all time.

I don't know what Scite_ is, but have you searched your computer for all things that contain that string? There have been a couple of times when I wanted to remove everything from a particular developer from my computer, so I just deleted everything I found with their name in it.
