I switched to Brave because i got tired of waiting. that and the built in adblock would jib out a lot. the UI of opera is nice but the UX is tainted (for lack of a better term)
the reason why we haven't got a Linux OperaGX is because apparently the gaming community isn't as big, which yeah that's sort of fair but they do realize there's an early market advantage right? nevertheless i stopped using it and just use Browser extensions in tandem with Tamper Monkey and sorta built out my own and functionally better browser.
Funny what malicious compliance does to a mofo -

Add another message, to express that there is a market for such a browser on Linux

It's been 5 years of people requesting, I wonder if there is anyone from Opera monitoring these forums???
I use Linux and a Mac and really hate to use another browser on the Linux while my primary browser has beeb GX for so long. Please someone with power, listen to these folks who have been patiently requesting since 2020 for this browser to be available on Linux.
I too signed up just to request this! +1 for Opera GX on Linux

Things are about to change; more and more gamers are switching to Linux, aka SteamOS, Bazzite, CachyOS, etc. Microsoft is losing user trust and handheld gain in popularity.
The train has left the station, and I can't believe the OperaGX team will miss it.
I hope it's only a matter of time. Just do it! -

At this point I've just given up on the idea and picked up Brave. Sure, it's maybe not as appealing to myself as Opera GX, but no browser is worth staying on Windows, and the features are similar enough to what I liked about Opera GX. Wish I didn't have to say goodbye, but without a native app, it's time. Early bird catches the worm, but Opera GX doesn't want to be the early bird. Maybe I'll come back when (if) they finally release a native app.

I guess we'll have to go through the trouble of setting up a virtual machine just for Opera GX.

I think you can download the Windows application for Opera GX using the Bottles app and then open it on Linux.

I have used Opera GX while I am on Windows, but I moved to Linux and only have acces to "regulair" but also not as nice looking opera.
I would really like Opera GX on linux --> More and more ppl r moving to Linux: its way more stable
(if u dont pick an unstable release of an linux distro or one w/ an desktop enviroment that`s still in full development, aka: not stable yet
(erghum... Pop_OS!
(Yes I use it IK, but I do like the look, I cant help it
(at least I am an anvanced user, so I can fix my issues)))).I would really like Opera GX to be on Linux, this way Opera wont lose customers that use Opera GX when they move to Linux and those users not wanting to use regulair versions of Opera.
btw, the look of Opera GX is amazing, I can use profiles to split up the usages:
- 1 for school (school sites & account),
- 1 for work (work websites/stuff where u would use ur work account for),
- 1 for IT/ICT (I am an IT/ICT Guy) (maybe make it 2/3 -->
- 1 for hardware,
- 1 for software,
- 1 for research [other] (the last one = optional)),
- 1 per game (in my case:
- 1 for Tower of Fantasy [ToF],
- 1 for Arknights: Endfield [ANE] (Tip: LLauncher)
(I made that shortend version up, maybe: AN:E), - Minecraft (Java) [MC] (wiki ect.),
- minecraft server stuff (I would use that for maintaining an minecraft server (problebly: the one of my cousin)),
- 1 for minecraft modpack development (I am not an dev, so developing mods aint an thing I do),
- Roblox [RBLX](tip: Sober & vinagar),
- Zenless Zone Zero [ZZZ] (Tip: Sleepy Launcher))
- Other Games (including: Clasicube)
[all of those I play on Linux, I do not Boot into windows anymore for the past long while, I will only boot into it If I am Forced to do so (excluding my laptop --> used for school & has way too many IT tools installed to switch rn + Desktop PC I use at school which I installed myself --> used for stuff at school, had no choice (there I use Opera GX on my laptop & Edge on desktop (maybe Opera GX on desktop soon?)))]
I like the way u can theme Opera GX, which u can not do w/ any other browser, including other Opera versions
A hack ton of stuff that is only in Opera GX is not available in normal Opera or other browsers
I would Like to see an Linux version of Opera GX on Linux soon

@burnout426 I notable can't upvote either, much like @SEoF. Reputation is a weird mechanic, and thus, I can't upvote a valuable post.

Maybe someone want to test the Linux builds from https://get.opera.com/ftp/pub/opera_gx/128.0.5807.78/linux/
