@flaviu2 Thank you very much. Do you think there is some special reason for you or even one or two more, that doesn't let you give up on Opera?

Hi, and sorry for this late response.

I can put here some reasons I am using Opera, however, some of them are pure subjective.

        • best looking browser (I know, I am subjective here), I liked even the version without tab islands (99 or below)
        • fastest and efficient, I have tested on Speedometer3.1 and JetStream2.0 against Edge (for me Chrome does not exist)
        • standalone application, not integrated in OS, like Edge
        • has versions for any OS, including Android, I am using this browser on my smart phone as well
        • switching tab is just like as professional editors, you can switch between 2 tabs with Ctrl+Tab key, this behaviour is not present on Edge or Chrome, this feature is very useful for me
        • cannot close the browser by Ctrl+W, if you keep this key combination on Edge you'll end up closing the browser without wanting this
        • has Dark Mode for the pages at glance (or screenshot)
        • password manager I like it more than Edge
        • render some pages correctly instead of Edge (Chrome is also showing correct this one):

        af7bfd0f-68ab-49ec-a1c3-756cad8beefe-image.png

        and Edge:

        9154f1d0-a3a4-4fd1-ba33-c2989d8e14fa-image.png

        • can use almost any Chrome / Edge extenstion
        • I am using it from years and no new browser convince me to switch it, except knowing this product is owned by China, and I don' trust China at all ... this might be a reason to give up using it
        • tab islands feature is not perfect yet, but I like they are listen the users and they fix and improve the browser step by step
        • and more ...

@flaviu2 Thank you very much for your extensive answer. I'm not in a position already to give a thumps up, unfortunately.
I can agree to almost every point you're saying. That's what keeping me with Opera for almost 3 and a half years now. Especially when considering that every other major browser has flaws of its own.
With the Chinese ownership you nail it, actually. But as I also see China with lots of distrust, I don't think there's so much to worry about with Opera. But anyway, who asks himself who owns Alphabet or Microsoft? And at least you can check who owns Opera as they are traded publicly.
In self declared privacy circles there's a lot of fuss about Brave. But in this case you don't know who owns it and where their earnings really come from.
So, thank you very much for your detailed answer again.

You are very welcome. I liked sharing my thougts with you.

I totally agree with you when you said: at least Opera is listed to traded publicicly so you can see who owns this product. Being regulated after Norwegian laws, this give a level of trust though.

I forgot to mention another (small maybe but important for me) reason why I like Opera: when you download a file, you are notified with a nice top-right hand ballon, while in Chrome or Brave you have a thick band in the bottom of the view (very un-practical!), and this annoying band is decreasing the view size.

I’ve been using Opera for years as well, and honestly, one of the things I appreciate the most is how lightweight and fast it feels even with multiple tabs open. I play a lot of mobile-to-PC games research stuff in my free time, like testing out new features or looking up tips for hill climb racing 2 mod apk latest version
, and Opera’s built-in VPN and ad blocker make it so much easier to browse game forums and download updates safely.

For me, other browsers might have certain bells and whistles, but Opera just manages to balance performance, privacy, and extra features without feeling cluttered—perfect for someone who’s juggling gaming, browsing guides, and staying organized online.

@chloe898 I’ve been using Opera for years, and I really like how fast and lightweight it is, even with many tabs open. I often browse tech guides, game forums, and tutorials, and Opera’s VPN and ad blocker make it much easier to do all that safely.

Other browsers have features, but Opera balances speed, privacy, and tools without feeling cluttered.

Best Speed Dial on a desk top browser. I have tried other Browsers with Speed Dials Extensions and don't work as well.
I use Opera on a Windows Desktop, Android Phone and Tablet and it works seamlessly for me.
Firefox is a resource hog and I wont use Edge as M$ already have way too much Power.

Honestly, it’s the Workspaces and the Sidebar. I’m one of those people who ends up with 50 tabs open, and Opera is the only browser that actually helps me keep them organized by project instead of just having one giant mess.

Having WhatsApp and Spotify right there in the sidebar without needing to switch tabs is a total game changer for my workflow. It feels less like a basic browser and more like a productivity hub.

I prefer Opera because it’s super fast and has great built-in features like an ad blocker and a free VPN. It also offers a sidebar with easy access to messaging apps, making multitasking a breeze. Plus, its customization options let me personalize my browsing experience.

I have been using opera for a few years now and have been generally happy with it. However I seriously thinking about switching to either Firefox or Chrome. Lately I have noticed a few websites that I m unable to access using the Opera browser.

@NSrider I understand, although I have to get to a webpage to experience the same, yet.
In your case, if you're still satisfied with your Opera experience generally, why not use it as primary and default browser and Chrome for those cases, where Opera isn't accepted?
Firefox still seems to be a decent browser these days, but people say that it runs into more and more incompatabilities because of the Chromium monopoly. So it wouldn't probably give you the expected results, you should rather run Firefox as a somehow political statement upholding their own rendering engine Gecko as they do.
