Search defaults to google.com when I type google.com.au...

I'm an Australian and need Australian results when I search for shopping and other stuff that's related to Australian regulation ETC. Unfortunately, just recently, when I type www.google.com.au it goes to www.google.com and there's no option to display Australian search results at this search site. Can you please fix this ASAP, it's getting annoying that I can't use my search engine of choice.
