Using older Opera design with Opera 21?

Hello.I have always since the first time I used Opera (around 2007 maybe?) had Opera as my first choice of browser and have never been disappointed until yesterday when I updated to Opera 21. This new version feels like Chrome both in how functions work and how the design is. The right click is alike Chrome, the settings is alike Chrome, the tabs are alike Chrome.That is why I have begun the search for a new browser but I am curious if there are any last chance. Can I somehow make Opera 21 design to look like an older Opera that looks like the old Opera, and also make the functions work like an Opera that doesn't look like this new Opera 21?

Opera 21 looks and functions exactly the same as Opera 20, Because they are the same, and there is only about one months difference in development time between them.

I thought Opera 21 was pretty much identical to Opera 20, it looks the same and funtions the same, the only difference is that Opera 21 will show the full URL, I'm sure there are other little differences, but none that I've noticed

He may have mistyped that, he might mean he wants Opera 21 to look and function the same as Opera 16 and that aint gunna happen.

The tabs open to the right of the own tab, I want to have it as always before, to open it to the right of all old tabs.

The "trash" where you find latest closed tabs, it's still there but lacks functions and isn't as easy to access. About the function part I do not like that there is no place to find pop ups and stuff that was blocked.

You can't open a private tab anymore where the tabs are. You can only create a "normal tab" there. Not as easy accessed.

The right click. The "right click" options have been reduced. Especially the "reload". Where is my reload every X seconds?
Also I do have somethings I guess I would be able to accustom to but do not like:
- Design of settings.
- How you delete your data, cookies, cache...
- Design of history.
- Design and function of accessing a ftp.

Opera 21 and Opera 20 look very much the same to me. Opera 21 has some similarities to Chrome, but differences too -- like the Speed Dial with folders (Chrome has nothing in the same ballpark), Discover, Stash, Off Road Mode (all of these features too rather unique) and more. It also takes less of a footprint on your computer. I have Windows 7, 8 ram, and with Chrome constantly got warnings about most of my CPU being filled from Chrome. I got a number of blue screens I attribute to using Chrome along with Opera -- but none since I stopped using Chrome, and use Opera 20-21 exclusively. Are you referring to making the functions work like Opera 20 or Opera 12? If the latter, what functions do you want? Many functions -- though not all -- in Opera 12 can be put in Opera 20 via extension. In short, though, I'd suggest giving Opera 21'more of a chance. It sounds to me like you really haven't. Remember, Opera 21 can use Opera extensions, AND ALSO almost any extension in the Chrome store, as long as you have the Opera extension called "Download chrome Extension." So why would you want to switch to Chrome. Beats me ;)))

Oh, ok. Then I might had Opera 19, 18 or something earlier. Because this was a total new design for me. I edited the first post so it says an Opera where it wasn't updated to look like Chrome.

Yes, I probably mean Opera 16. Thank you. If that is the case I will sadly need to change my web browser.

I do not really want to change to Chrome. I only use Chrome when I need to, like when I do web design or used something that wasn't that compatible with Opera. Chrome will never be my first choice of a web browser.

blackbird71 last edited byUhmm... you probably meant that Opera 12.16 was your "older" Opera. Opera versions, starting with version 15, have cosmetically and functionally looked similar to one another in most respects and quite different from the old Presto Opera (which currently only runs through 12.17... versions 13 and 14 were not released as regular desktop browsers). All the versions at or above 15 employ the Blink rendering engine, which derives from the Chromium and Chrome lineage of browsers; Opera has added it's own GUI interface to that engine, but many Chrome-like technical similarities show through all the versions at or above 15, thus far.
There are some extensions that users indicate can help to make the New Opera versions similar in some respects to Old Opera, but unfortunately much of the detailed "tweaking," display appearance elements, and "feel" of Old Opera simply won't translate into New Opera. Personally, I migrated to Firefox with a few of its extensions to make it look much like Old Opera in the areas that matter most to me - but much of the "feel" of Old Opera still isn't there. You'll have to take stock of what features you yourself really, positively must have and seek out a browser (plus possible extensions/add-ons/plug-ins) that will get you as close as you can to your goal, whether that be New Opera or something else. The alternative is to remain using Old Opera, but that will face growing site-incompatibility and security problems as time goes by.

I concur, Blackbird71. It does sound more like the OP might have had an Opera version more along the lines of 12.16 or even older for there to have been such a HUGE shocking surprise in the difference of LOOK and functionality that suddenly had Chrome's fingerprints all over it.
