Im currently using the Opera GX Mobile app from Play store, and its all updated so thats no the problem.
But the error in questions is:
Unknown protocol
Opera gx was unable to open the link since no application associated with "intent:" protocol was found on your system.
Its really getting to me considering i cant reach ANY sites. Ive tried it with and without my VPN and the same error happens.

When you're on the page, tab the Opera logo at the bottom right and turn on "Desktop site" to see if that works around it.

I had this issue aswel, once I logged in with a Gmail account on operagx it opens the appstore links without issue.
I think the link needs a linked Google account that's logged in on the appstore in order to actually open.
