Recover Lost Work?

I have been working in Opera for five hours, revising a Wordpress blog post. Somehow Wordpress lost these five hours' worth of work. I hoped to retrieve the revisions from the Opera cache. When I type opera:cache in the address bar, I get "This webpage is not available." When I type opera:history in the address bar, I get a list of webpages showing only the most recent (i.e., post-loss) version of the Wordpress page for that draft post. Can I recover this morning's revisions from my Opera cache?

I don't think there's any way of viewing the cache contents directly in the new versions of Opera I'm afraid.
There is a free utility here -
http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/chrome_cache_view.html
This is a cache viewer for Chrome, but I've checked and it will read the cache of the new Opera versions.
You will need to change the path to the folder from its default under File>Select Cache Folder so it points to where your Opera cache files are instead of the Chrome default path.
You can find the path to the cache folder by looking at "About Opera" on the main menu.
Whether this will enable you to recover your data I don't know, but it's worth a try!
Good luck!

That advice worked. Here's a writeup, FYI: http://raywoodcockslatest.wordpress.com/2014/07/01/wordpress-asks-are-you-sure/

Sorry to hear that you didn't manage to find your work in the cache, but I hope the pointer to ChromeCacheView will help others.
