Opera is running more than 32 tasks at time

For some time now, I have noticed that opera browser is slower than usual, especially when searching, no matter if it is Google or Bing. In both cases when I click on the search it stays apparently in the search cycle, and sometimes I have to wait 3 or 4 minutes for it to display a result. It wasn't until yesterday that I checked the task manager and found that Opera has up to 32 tasks running in the background, and of course, this is consuming resources and slowing down my browsing. Is it possible to prevent Opera from having so many tasks running in the background?

@NippUnique It may depends on the processes. Check them in the internal task manager by using shift escape.

Opera, like all Chromium-based browsers, separates all kinds of tasks into processes. So, the process count itself is normal.
Does a test standalone installation have the same slowness though or does it search fast like it's supposed to?
