How can I disable tab mute?

I'm a user who usually has a lot of tabs open. After the new UI, muting tabs is a constant frustration I have. Normally, when you press a tab, you press it in the middle - it's very logical, but in that middle is the annoying mute setting and I have to uncomfortably find the space along the edge every time so I don't press mute. It's little to say that it is annoying. Can you please make it easy to turn "mute tab" off?
