Click on tab to go to the top intermittently working

I love Opera browser and have been using it for years. I have seen this browser evolve and become pretty darned spectacular. (using standard Opera, I can't stand Opera GX)
However!! In one of the great features that I absolutely love it seems that the 'tab' to get us to the top of page feature works only about half the time.
I could be on any site... Amazon, my mail, online calendar! Grocery shopping.
I'll be scrolling through the page and then want to go back to the top - I click the tab to do so and half the time it stops working.I will then duplicate the tab and voila! it starts working again! But it seems I have to do this more and more these days!
I understand there are keystrokes I could use but given what it is and it's basically a 'helper' I need that level of helping LOL!! (I'm lazy!) but I have hand tremors too and it's so much better with this feature! (Trying to use the teeny tiny side scroll bar is ridiculous!)
Clicking on the tab, is uh-mazing and incredibly helpful!!!
Is there something I can do?
Or is this a known issue and it's a work in progress? Please help! Thank you!!

@opiumdoll It doesn't work at all or it just don't get you to the top of the page, but still gets you to a previous section of the page?

It works! Just only 45% of the time.
When it fails I will then, as mentioned, duplicate the tab into a 'new tab' (Closing the original) then the tab to top feature is working again. It only takes about 4 or 5 pages I'd say then it fails again.
Then it's back to right clicking on the open tab, to duplicate tab (To basically refresh the tab in full) (I will then close the original tab!!!) And carry on with the new duplicated tab.
A few pages on into that NEW tab, then it WILL fail again.
*did fully restart the browser, and it will fix it, but then it will happen again (repeatedly after about 4 or 5 pages) -

This keeps happening!
It is - driving -- me --- crazyyyy!An example!
I am looking at window box fans on Amazon. I'm scrolling down the page looking at what's available. Then I think about the first two fans I saw and click the tab to go to top of the page and it does not work. I then go TO the tab and right click on the tab to duplicate 'new tab'.
It takes me to the new tab! Great! I click on the little X to get rid of the original other one.
It has taken me exactly to where I was on the other page. I will click on the tab to go to top and voila! It works! But within a few more pages, I am then doing the exact same thing again to 'duplicate the tab' into a new tab and then I get rid of the other.
This is... non stop. It's on yahoo! Google! Amazon! My doctor's office! The post office....grocery store. ALL sites at some point IN Opera, Will stop responding.
The browser continues to work, the 'top of page' tab feature stops working.
If anyone has any thoughts, suggestions! I would really really appreciate it.
Thank you. -

@leocg So are there any thoughts?? updates, possibilities? I keep coming back to see if anyone has some thoughts! It keeps happening.
Doesn't matter what site i'm on, eventually it's like the 'tab to top' feature 'wears off'... I find that feature So helpful because of my hand tremors. I have that disability - if I need to use the scroll bar or click down on my scroll wheel, hand tremors make it extremely difficult. That tab to top feature was excellent
But as I mentioned it's like it wears off. It won't budge AT all. I click 'tab' to go to top, and it won't do it.
I will then 'duplicate' that tab... and it's fully refreshed and I can carry on (until that one wears off! And I have to repeat the process again). it's like it goes.... and then runs out of juice??? lol thank you. I hop there's some possible solution!
