@ihanulusoy Thanks
It's also not supported on Chrome and Vivaldi, what means that it needs to be supported by Chromium for Opera to have it.

See https://issues.chromium.org/issues/40057824. They've been working on implementing it in Chromium for a few years now. It's a lot of work, but they're getting there.

@umairkhalil8001 Opera, Chrome, Vivaldi and others are Chromium based browsers.
So, if Chromium engine doesn't support HLS, none of them will be able to support it. -

@leocg however its supported on android . why its difficult to add on desktop browsers ? it seems they are working on it from many years ago.

@ihanulusoy Maybe it's easier to implement on Android and/or it was more needed to implement it on Android.

There are some extensions like this one (and the related ones at the bottom of that page) that use a Javascript implementation of HLS to add HLS support to Chromium-based browsers. I haven't tested any of them, but I'm guessing they're not very performant. Something to try though if you want.

@burnout426 thanks , i know about that extensions and there are some good extensions can play hls very well. but i want to use hls media on my website and i cant ask from users to install some extension and gave him my video hls url (example.com/videos/video1.m3u8) to put it on extension and play. its not a useful way to users.
