Messages shows white on white

Messages I receive in Messenger for the sidebar shows as white text on a white background when I use dark mode on Facebook/messenger.

Impossible to see what people write without highlighting the text.

I've reported it as an issue, but does anyone else have the same issue?

I've tried all the usual suspects in deleting cookies etc.
