opera just deleted passwords on update

Just updated Opera to latest version, I thought, but then after update Opera downloaded another update.
Opera has deleted all my passwords on a day with so much to do that I probably do not have time for lunch. I use a Mac because it works, for Opera to release an update that creates such chaos is appalling appalling mismanagement. I need a 2 minute fix that restores my passwords so that I am no longer uncontactable on my primary computer. Missing a work email today could cost me over £100! I did not have time for this god awful unreliability that had my fill of when running Windows computers, such as a company working closely with had to reinstall Windows OS 3 times in 18 months as updates broke the OS, I believe that the appalling unreliability of Windows lead to early retirement and about 10 people losing their jobs! Will log back insoon as uncontactable now, but other things must do

@peterjchandler That email did arrive for the bulk of the £100, fortunately were in touch on the phone. Had I let it until tomorrow I would have lost the bulk of that £100! The other email address for the rest is locked away in the passwords Opera has deleted

@peterjchandler Have a little time to try to solve the problem... Looking at Index of /Users/user1/Library/Application Support/com.operasoftware.Opera/Default/ includes "AutofillStrikeDatabase/" timed at the update time, suggests that the deletion was an intentional part of the update. This has removed about maybe 1000 passwords. It is not a practical option to reinstall them manually, I do not have the time to spend tidying from an update cock up! You cannot imagine the chaos from this cockup!

@peterjchandler Looks like cookies were cleared as well, some website are giving me the first accessed page, not the usual one that normally appears when go the website. So a complete reset of my browser. There are plenty of posts about Opera deleting all passwords, but none of these ppsts have a solution - so has Opera just completely screwed my online activities? Not restarted browser for next update as that may delete the files with my passwords, or will Opera fund a datsa recovery exercise to retrieve those lost passwords?

@peterjchandler Opera appears now not to offer to save passwords when I enter a password I can find elsewhere. This is a massive disaster here

@peterjchandler Opera has deleted my search engine choice as well! What a complete disaster...
Any solutions please?

@peterjchandler Opera even added about 6 items to the start of my Speed Dial, mainly companies I never use! Underhand advertising?

@peterjchandler Shocked at the utter disregard displayed by the developers here.. A few days ago did an update and Opera came back completely reset, all my passwords gone - WORK passwords! Hence this thread.
Then this evening, restarted Opera, 400 tabs had vanished, work tabs! Utter disaster, complete disrespect for users.
Looks very likely to me that Opera developers are trying to kill Opera
Opera (& Firefox) used to have a simple link on the history menu - Restore Previous Session -
Complete disregard for Opera users to have deleted this. Complete & utter disrespect for the user base, so much so I would push for Mozilla to be humanely put down so that they cannot wreak any more chaos!

@peterjchandler Fortunately I have Session Buddy extension, and was able to go back to a snapshot of my tabs a couple of days ago. Lost tabs may well be quite serious, do not know as they are lost, however somebody influential may well be fully aware
Maybe the developers were listening, this latest update which was installed by an Opera crash, seems to have found all my passwords again! What an absolute cock up the last few days have been, no idea of how many hours, lost video calls, etc. etc. as a consequence of this all mighty cockup on the part of the developers.
Maybe they are listening, a long time ago the top tab scrollbar was removed, leading to tiny tabs at the top of the window that were almost impossible to navigate in a window with many tabs. This latest update came back with the tab scrollbar reinstated, making multi-tab windows far far easier to navigate
