Opera Mini data saving + IP

Hello,
I have a question about the data saving function of Opera mini. This function runs via a proxy server. Opera says that my real IP is still not hidden.
I have checked my IP - and the IP location is USA. But I am not in the USA. Maybe this is the location of the Opera proxy server.
What about my real IP address? Is it stored on the Opera server?
Thanks and greetings

@leocg Excluded. I have a different IP with the Opera browser than with another browser. This IP is 141.0.12.27. This IP is from the host opera-mini.net. USA location. And if I deactivate this data saving option - then I have my correct IP again. So the IP definitely has something to do with Opera.
My real question is, how does Opera handle the IP's? Are user IPs saved if you don't use a VPN?

@leocg I think this data reduction option is total crap. There is no indication anywhere that this will disable the VPN. Without you noticing anything about it. The IP changes silently when you use this option. I mean an additional VPN, Opera's cannot be activated at the same time anyway. Yes, you can read it. But who thinks about something like that?

In data saving mode, the traffics routed through a proxy server for compression. It is likely that the web site will be able to know your actual IP address through javascript etc. For more anonymous usage, you should consider the OS level VPN.
If you want to confirm the actual IP address seen by the server, you can hit https://www.ip2location.com and see the results. If you see Opera organization, then you are behind the data saving mode in Opera Mini.
