Two Operas and neither will open after installing latest update.

Upon relaunching my Opera after an update and restarting my Mac, 1: Opera would not open, and :2 I no longer had the opera icon with the white trim but had the old icon with just a red O. when I clicked that icon nothing would open. I looked around and found that I have a Opera 77.0, and a Opera 105.0.
I am truly PC illiterate, have a fading memory, and am virtually tech. dumb, so please...have patience with me. And if you can help me get my Opera back I would appreciate it.
