Lost workspace with colored Icons

I just lost all the workspaces with colored Icons :
and the tabs I had inside, where are they? I don't know, they just vanished, I can't find them in the history.
The thing is that I even perceived a crash or something similar, after a crash some days ago I recovered everything.
Any idea why this happened, how can I recover them or how to avoid this for the next time?Psd/ fewer tabs isn't an option
