In your old Opera 12.16 save your old bookmarks as an HTML file on your hard drive.
          Settings>Import export>export bookmarks as HTML

Save them with a name such as MYBOOKMARKS

Now open them in old opera PAGE>OPEN>MYBOOKMARKS

Now when all the Bookmarks appear in the box above that displays the link
mouse over the link and RIGHT CLICK MOUSE and hit COPY

CLOSE your old Opera 12.16 Browser.

OPEN your new Opera 20.00 Browser.
Clear the existing link and Right Click Paste and Go!
Insert the MYBOOKMARKS into your new Opera 20.00 Browser and save.
NOW all your old bookmarks are available in your in Opera 20.00

            Thanks to all.
I was afraid that most of the answers will be negative.

            @pesala

            1. Thanks for the tip for sorting. I can live with that.

(4). Doesn't work everywhere. Ex. eight click on selected text>go to web address.

just loaded Opera 20 30 mins ago, I've all ready removed it back on 12.16. It didn't seem to copy my Speed dials or book marks, I've used Opera for 8 or 9 years 20 just didn't feel right. I could not find how to set tool-bars and bookmarks to my liking, and I failed to find what I was looking for and gave up I have better things to do with my time. I might have to go to google

If you're willing to go to Google's Chrome and learn where things are, why not spend time on Opera 20 and do the same? Or... at least install Opera 20 alongside Google Chrome to keep apace of its development.

Last time I checked Chrome, there was a service running in the background, transfering data both ways, and the browser wasn't even launched... More than a browser, a Big Brother. 🙂

When activating JS from the start i am able to answer here.
I would love to use Opera (12) to watch Youtube, but since about 6 months it just did'nt work. From one day to the other it was unpossible. So yea i am just leaving myself to chrome. Im a part of their data-system now, but it is irresistible. ILY !!

ok i will test 20 but 'Woe betide you'! If there is no rocker navigation !!

How can i transfer my passwords from Opera 12 to 20?

Maybe no way. There seems no personal info in 20 (?) F12 is away. But dial is cool. 20 loaded 10 min my 60 dial bookmarks. Nice. Maybe im just dumb or to old.

20 is a good alternative to chrome for watching YT

but how to turn screen into Black/White ??

                          Opera is so funny

Hi, how can I place the TAB-bar to the left? Now it is in top position. That sucks. I tried to drag it somehow - nothing. The "opera"-Button in the upper left corner doesn't provides for those adjustments.
I wonder, what sort of guys produced such a bullshit. This is the opposite of an improvement concerning handling and offering a low entry barrier for people trying opera.
                            Anyway. Ideas? Greetings from Germany

after designing user interfaces for about 10 years, I'm simply shocked relating software quality these days. Younger people (software programmer) shouldn't be seen as "innovative" only because they make lots of things, an experienced programmer would dump instantly. Sucks. How many loads of shit one can bear.
...back to the problem: how can I place the TAB-bar to the left?
