@leocg said in Turn off startup sound:
You can also ask in https://opera.atlassian.net/servicedesk/customer/portal/9
Is it something more then waste of time? Developers ignore this forum so why this should be different?

@shodan-shodan Thanks. The Spash screen is very annoying. What did the product manager thing when they added that pain,

My Opera has been 'upgraded' to Opera One.
I nearly spat out my coffee when opening up my browser, and that loud, obnoxious sound came out of nowhere.
...who thought that was a good idea? -

I'm 100% with you on this. The stupid thing plays every time I launch Opera now. This update appears to be a mess and is already making me consider moving to another browser. -

There is no way to disable the window that appears after every update. Scrolled through all the menus, there is not even a section related to updates.

At every start Opera One shows splash screen with sound.
Option to disable splash screen at start is necessary.

@linast Agreed, a browser should not have a splash screen. I want it up and running ASAP.

Opera GX has setting "Splash screen on startup" which can be disabled. In Opera One no such setting...

They even added a sound to the splash screen, making it even more annoying. Opera, please remove this ASAP. A browser is a tool, not a toy.

@leocg It must update all the time then as every time I start Opera it plays the sound and I have to use Opera on this laptop unless I go through IT to have it replaced which is just slightly more annoying than the Splash. I'm trying the splash.exe deletion in hoes it doesn't reload with every update. That will be the final straw for me as that's sadistic on Opera's behalf.
