I have an issue with Google drive & calendar and
      also OneDrive using Opera browser.
Current version: 98.0.4759.15 (issues since January at least)

Have reported this as a bug today.

Since quite some time now, at least since January I have not been able to:

      • add attachments to my calendar posts (calendar.google.com), it's not connecting with my Google Drive.

      • able to upload folders to drive.google.com.

I have updated to newer browser versions throughout, but this issue still remains, no blockers active, cleaned cache and whatnot, all good from my end. Doesn't work on either WIN 10 or WIN 11. Tried different computers to no avail.

FYI: Works as it should with Firefox & Chrome.

      Attachments in Google calendar posts:
Trying to add a document or image in a calendar post , I only get a popup with a spinning icon (normally this popup is the connection to Google Drive & also giving options to upload from computer.)

Trying to upload folders from computer to Google drive:
Only getting error message: File not found.
      (Individual files works fine though.)

      Addition!
Yesterday I discovered I cannot upload Folders from computer to Microsofts Onedrive either. Onedrive errror: Something went wrong try again.

      Halp!

What could be causing the issue with Opera browser not being able to connect to Google Drive and OneDrive, preventing attachments from being added to Google Calendar and folders from being uploaded to Google Drive and OneDrive? The issue has persisted since at least January and occurs on both Windows 10 and 11, while Firefox and Chrome are not affected.

Also there is a direct solution that you can use to upload your files/folders from your computer to Googledrive/Onedrive , just try a third party tool like Gs Richcopy 360 or Syncback , search both

I tested in Opera 101.0.4843.0 and 100.0.4815.21 on Windows 11 22H2 with both OneDrive and Google Drive. I have a folder on my desktop named "test upload" with 2m non-empty txt files in it. I can't upload the folder to my OneDrive or my Google Drive. In both cases, after I choose the folder in the upload folder picker dialog and click upload, the operation fails with an error saying that it can't upload because the files are empty. Uploading the files directly works fine. The folder upload just doesn't work in Opera.

Works fine in Chrome. Still doesn't work in Opera even if I spoof as Chrome and disable browser.js at the URL opera://browserjs.

Drag and dropping the folder from my desktop to the page works though to upload the folder.

Yes, this is exactly what happens. ๐Ÿ‘ ๐Ÿ‘ ๐Ÿ‘ Thanks for confirming.

Always worked fine for years in Opera, so a fair assumption must be that something is going on with the browser itself.

(Also, I'm not able to add attachments in Google Calendar using Opera. This hasn't worked for something like a year now, and also worked fine before.)

According to my testing, this first broke in 96.0.4674.0 (which was updated to Chromium 110.0.5481.30).

                  Yay! Thanks.
I really like Opera so would love if this was fixed.

This is fixed internally now. Fix should show up first in version 102. Look for DNA-109301 in future entries in the 102 changelog.

When you see the fix in the changelog, make a test standalone installation of that build with the fix and test if it's fixed in that build.
