"Hovering over links doesn't show link address (Opera browser dev. v.60.0.3248.0)"
^^ Although it has been 3.5+ years since then, nothing must have been done, the problem still persists!
(Opera GX - LVL4 (core: 90.0.4480.100))

At the URL
opera://settings/onStartup
, do you have it set to "Begin with a fresh start page"? If so, instead of that option, set it to "Open a specific page or set of pages" and add just the pageopera://startpage
. Then, test to see if the problem goes away. -

Just found out the solution in Opera GX.
In opera://flags, turn off the enhanced address bar and restart Opera.

If anyone still has this problem, open new window after open the Opera GX, use that new window and close the first opening window, this way url appear correctly, at least for me.

There has got to be another solution, it used to work perfectly but for some reason it recently stopped showing the url of hovered links again. Opening a new window every time is not a solution.

I agree with this, there must be another solution on the developers side. But when I look at the first message of this topic, I think there is no hope. So I think this is the best thing we can do for now.

Something with the
opera://startpageshared
page causes this if it's loaded at startup and you hover over a link on it. The workaround I mentioned above can help avoid the issue in many cases (but not all). -

The workaround I mentioned above can help avoid the issue in many cases (but not all).I've tried this before but I tried it with opera://startpage and opera://startpageshared again and same result also when I put opera://startpage as start page it was automatically selected fresh start option after restart. So when I tried move the opening tab this time last tab won't stable (if it's the right word), Opera closes with the last tab but there is something with that too; Opera keeps comsumes sources in the task manager so it's not completly closed. But when I open a new window and close the first one it's work, it's strange to me. And if something is causing a problem, why hasn't a solution been found for so long?
