Find in page doesn't retain text from the previous tab

I just switched to opera gx but i have used regular opera and am facing the same issue.
I have a lot of tabs open and have to search the same term across different tabs. But as soon as i switch to a different tab and press F3 or Ctrl+F the find box is empty instead of retaining the previous search term like basically all the other browsers do.
Is this a problem from my end or is it like this for everyone(I have also tried fresh install of regular opera but no luck)? Also, is it even fixable using setting or else i might have to switch browsers since this is a dealbreaker for me.
Thank you.

I know for a fact that it used to work like you want a long while ago (since I also used it like that once in a while). But I'm not sure whether it's a setting issue, or Opera's wise guys decided to simply remove it altogether. All I can confirm is that it used to be here once upon a time, yes. -
