Support MacbookPro's touch id for MFA biometric authentication

identity providers have started supporting biometric authentication. While other leading browsers like safari and chrome support biometric authentication using Macbook's touchId, opera does not detect the touchId at all. It keeps asking the user to insert the security key

Hm, indeed, it doesn't support it despite the fact Opera extends Chromium core.
I assume Chrome has own solution for that.Come on, Opera, let's do this. I've been with you over a decade!

Really? No biometric support? This is 2023, right?
This is a deal breaker for me. How can we alert the Opera team about this so that it gets on their to-do list?
I use a really long, complex, high entropy password for most logins (as should we all these days, at a minimum). It is impossible to use Opera without biometric support.

@bigbaldbob Did you already try to enable the (Chromium) flag chrome://flags/#biometric-authentication-for-filling?

@leocg Yes, I enabled this flag but it still does not allow biometrically opening 1password like other browsers

@bigbaldbob Did you go to passwords manager and enabled the option to use Windows Hello (or equivalent)?

@leocg This is a MacBook thread. I have not tried it in Windows. Biometric support is not working for 1Password in Opera on Macbook

@leocg Got it. TouchID for 1Password (and many other things) works well in Chrome and Firefox for example.
I did learn from the 1Password Forum that they do not support Opera. It is unclear if that means if they supported Opera, they would be be able to turn on TouchID from their end of the integration.

@leocg I do not know any other "thing" besides 1Password that uses biometric scanning. within Opera. If you suggest one, I can try it.
