Search Bar history auto complete/suggestions

Hello,

it seems some search bars keep previous searched words and suggest them next time, as soon as you type the first letter of a word.

Somehow the words aren't removed, even if the whole browser history/cache etc. was cleared. This only seems to happen on specific sites/search bars.

Has anyone noted that too or knows how to clear them? (or even prevent them from saving)
