Youtube pausing at random when playing in background or opening new tab.

This is an odd behavior that started a couple weeks ago and I cannot manage to replicate consistently: youtube randomly pauses itself when I have it playing in background, also it randomly pauses when I open a new tab, be it a bookmark or a search in new tab (both via the search popup, right click drop down menu and drag&drop to tab bar).
Private mode seems to not present the issue, though that doesn't necessarily mean it's not there, it simply didn't happen while I was testing it: sometimes I'll go a whole day without it happening, other times it will happen on an hourly basis or thereabouts. This only happens on youtube, nowhere else that plays video of any kind.
Things I've tried to no avail:
- Clearing all history, cache and cookies
- Fresh install
- Disabling all extensions (I only use ublock anyway, with native opera adblocker off)
- Disabling the "remind me to take a pause" feaure in the youtube settings.
Any ideas?

@ghost81 Also experiencing the same issue, but for me it can also happen even when the window is in focus and I'm actively watching it. I haven't tested it in fullscreen. The issue seemed to start around the same time as well, maybe a couple of weeks ago or a little longer.
Tried all of the methods you've done as well with no success. I also tested with hardware acceleration turned on and off.

@chillykarma I can now confirm it occasionally happens even with the tab in focus and I have also noticed on other sites now.
