Sync not working?

I using opera with VPN (latest version 66.2 from playstore) on a Redmi note 8 MIUI 12.5.1 Android 11.
Not sure when it started to happen, Opera sync is showing me, 0 was synced. I recently used a password to encrypt data, I think since doing this it's all on 0,no bookmarks, no saved passwords, everything showing 0 except open tabs... 42 is the number and this don't change anymore.I am of course logged in in opera and activated everything in sync settings. reinstalling app same result. any idea?
