iCloud Password Extension suddenly stopped working on Macs

The Chrome iCloud Password extension used to work just fine. Now, for whatever reason, it is no longer working. I have to continually go through the settings on my mac to access my keychain to search for and copy necessary passwords.

I have recently updated to the latest OS (Monterey), is this causing the problem? Do I just need to wait on Google/Opera to update their apps? Or is this a problem that needs investigation?
