@leocg are you using the google authenticator aswell?
could this still be an issue with "APWG" or am I possibly be infected with something?

@daolul Nope, I'm not using the Google Authenticator and I don't think it has anything to do with it.

Opera doesn't check if you are infected or not, there isn't an antivirus or anything like that in the browser.

That was not my question and I am not stupid lmao.
It probably has something to do with login auth because it redirects differently other then if you using the paypal app auth because there is no need to use it for a normal login and it instantly redirects to the account page.
The question was "could this still be an issue with "APWG" "... otherwise I would be infected.
Can some competent dev answere me or send me any info about the blacklist?
If there is no way that APWG blocks it, there would be a possibility to be infected and getting redirected to another site without it showing in my adress bar. I would need to check every outgoing connection if this case could be possible.
But tbf I still think it's an issue by opera/apwg! Nonetheless I want to be sure - I need somebody with google auth to confirm that he/she is getting the same error like me and OP!

            Again in simple words.
It could be possible that Opera is still buggy and showing this error even tho its legit paypal. (that is most likely)
            Or
I have a Virus on my PC that redirects me to a phishing site. (But this would mean the virus would kinda "spoof" my adress bar because it is showing paypal.com/signin and after ignoring it's showing the right certificats) - If this is the case the Opera message would be legit (wich i doubt).

I want to be sure to clam down my nerves!
And if it's a bug, Fix it !!!

Holy cow I still can't get over it that you said that this message is no anti virus. My english isn't the very best because its not my native language but I am no kid and I work with Computers since 20 years. This is like asking somebody that has internet connectivity issues if he restarted his modem smh.

If you click on Why this page was blocked, you will see in what database the site was included as a suspicious one.

@daolul Well, it says how the feature works.

The page being blocked and, therefore, the one being in the database of malicious pages, is the one in the address bar.

I get the same issue when being redirected to Paypal from a shipping site I use - why on earth was this put on the list to start with is my question...and why is is it still on it? It's Paypal!
                    A non-cut-and-paste response is greatly appreciated 😉

@dazjam You need to ask APWG (https://apwg.org/), they are the ones who put that PayPal page on the list of possible malicious pages.

Did you even read my Post comepletely? I just explained you what my theory was if my machine would be infected. If this is the case everything in the addressbar could be fake.

I am glad that i'm not the only one - But why does it happen to us with different approches?

And yes non-cut-and-paste response is greatly appreciated ;)!!
Are actually devs in this forum aswell? or just moderators that got their "rank" because they are probably related to the ceo lmao.

Could it be that it has nothing to do with APWG anymore and it has something to do that Paypal tries to beat alipay and wechat? That is just another theory because Opera got bought by Chinese billionaire entrepreneurs back in 2016. - Maybe those are alipay/wechat investors aswell and we all know that the government want's to make those services the norm. (Just a random guess)

No matter what, we want answers and we want it to be fixed. If no real dev tries to help with this problem I feel forced to just "format c:" and after that never use Opera again even tho I really really like Opera GX.

Yes, I read it and that's why I answered explaining how that feature works.

What exactly do you mean? The block is based on the page address, so no matter how you got there, the page would be blocked.

Are actually devs in this forum aswell?

Although people from Opera may come here and reply eventually, this is mainly a forum for users to try to help each other.

It has to do with the fraud and malware protection feature that I already explained you about..

By the way, http://paypal.com/signin is no longer being blocked.

@leocg I think you do not get the point with the virus spoofing the addressbar to make it look legit but it's fine tho all good.
