      I'm just an user.

You can ask for it or show your support for the one of the already existing requests.

Opera Chromium never had a homepage, so it can't be re-add. 🙂

And I really don't see a good reason for them to start allowing setting a homepage.

@leocg fair enough, I may have been wrong with the homepage bit, confusing it with a new-tab page...
but there was definitely an option to have it 😛
and THAT's what I'm complaining about here

it was omitted and users are forced on Opera's speed dial
and that's what I'm shaming about above

so yeah, sorry for the confusion 🙂

In Opera Presto there was one, if I remember correctly.

But I guess that having a homepage back there used to make more sense

@leocg either way, you know what I meant now 🙂
              thanks for inadvertently correcting me

              yeah new-tab page, not homepage
though is there really a difference
both literally did the same thing X3

no, it is a very good design. just it needs a copy of the design for the speed dial page

Looks like this still has not been addressed. ALL other browsers have it where you can change the page that opens when you press the + on the tab bar. This feature should of never been removed. I just installed Oerpa for the first tiome in avery long time and have it almost exactly as I want it. The only thing missing now is setting what page opens when I press the + on the tab bar. Is there a request thread for this? Thanks

@mrgrimm There are many, most probably. However, it's been years that Opera no longer supports having a custom new tab page, basically since the change to Chromium.

What does the change to Chromium have to do with it since the feature is supported in Chromium?

@mrgrimm It was just a reference in time.

@mrgrimm You can use https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/new-tab-start-page/mjfahldkpjhcnfbbmdhpjolcjpcfhcpj as a workaround to set most start page replacement extensions to open when opening a new tab. See https://www.reddit.com/r/operabrowser/wiki/opera/fvd for one example.

That looks pretty promising. I will give it a spin. Thanks a lot.

                                Edit:

Worked like a charm. Thanks again.
