Hi Brenda (bjdobson), maybemy" target="_blank">http://my.opera.com/community/forums/findpost.pl?id=14990772]my tips will be helpful.
Nope, sorry, not helpful. I don't WANT all my bookmarks in that toolbar. I DO have the "Bookmarks Manager" extension where all my bookmarks are neat and tidy but I cannot figure out how to bookmark a page using that.
When I tried to use the Chrookmarks - Chrome Bookmarks, it only imported my bookmarks from the quick task bar, which are just a few of my common bookmarks.
I only have my FULL list of bookmarks in the "bookmarks manager" extension and, of course, in my other Opera.
I'd like to import ALL my bookmarks into this Chrookmarks - Chrome Bookmarks extension but NOT have them all on my quick access bar as that's way too many. I just leave my common ones there.
I hope that's not too confusing?

Nope, it's not confusing, don't worry -

Oh, forget about this extension please, you can't do this within it, and by the way, no any new changes in this extension since 5 months.

Otherwise, ALL my bookmarks were on the QAB, where I definitely did not want them.
So if you can explain to me how to import all my bookmarks THEN get them into this extension you're promoting, THEN remove all the ones I want to remove from the QAB, that'd be awesome.

Firstly, I don't recommend, nor advertise any extension - the choice is yours, and by the way, I'm Opera's user, just like you

If for some reason you do not want, or can not use the "Xmarks Bookmark Sync" extension to sync your bookmarks, and your bookmarks in the "Bookmarks Manager" are already better organised, than in the old Opera, so in this case, I have another idea for you:
1. Export your bookmarks from the "Bookmarks Manager" to html file, and then import them to the Chrome, or Chromium,
2. Close the Opera and Chrome/Chromium, and then copy the files: "Bookmarks", "Favicons", and "Favicons-journal", from the Chrome's profile folder (e.g. "...Chrome\User Data\Default"), to the Opera's profile directory (e.g. "...Opera Developer\profile\data"),
3. Launch the Opera, and then open the "Chrookmarks" menu, and move (drag and drop) all of your bookmarks and/or folders (which you don't want to have in the "Bookmarks Bar"), to the "Other Bookmarks" subfolder, as it's shown below:

Nope, won't work. Oh, well, I'll just live with what I have for now. Thanks for trying

The bookmarks don't come. Just the ones already in my QAB, even though they're all there in Chrome. In Opera, they're not there - except in my OTHER bookmarks extension but not in the chrome crook one

I don't get it. Why have they done away with the perfectly functional and excellent Opera setup, including the left side bookmark panel, and come up with all this cryptic stuff? Did Google buy out Opera? Luckily - so far anyway - Firefox is still normal, something I can understand.

Really strange, I suppose, that you're doing something not right. Are you sure, that both browsers: the new Opera and Chrome have been closed, prior to the step "copy / paste three files"?, and If so, then are you sure, that you copied them to the correct folder? You can check the path to the profile folder, under the O-menu->"About Opera".
Edit: Brenda, out of curiosity I will ask you something more, if you don't mind of course?
You mentioned, that you already have some bookmarks added/imported to the "Bookmarks Bar". If that's the case, then when you tried to copy the files mentioned above, to the profile directory of the new Opera, the warning message should appear, asking you, if you want to override the existing files, and if that didn't happen, then I'm quite sure, that the files have been copied to the wrong directory. -

Okay, trying again.
You said:
"3. Launch the Opera, and then open the "Chrookmarks" menu, and move (drag and drop) all of your bookmarks and/or folders (which you don't want to have in the "Bookmarks Bar"), to the "Other Bookmarks" subfolder, as it's shown below:"
How do you drag and drop anything? When I open Chrookmarks, then try to drag anything, Chrookmarks closes automatically.

I need to import my bookmarks into speed dial again (since I deleted them, most of them, the first time when I didn't want them in the QAB). It won't let me - grayed out. Any idea how to do it?

Just keep the mouse button pressed down for about a second when clicking on the back button and said menu will appear.
Is it that hard to press the right button like normal people have been doing for ages now?

Opera users are accustomed to using right-click to remove toolbar buttons. To show the menu more quickly than click and hold, use click and drag down. Right-click in Opera 18 is easier, but it is not that easy to relearn skills if you are a long-term Opera user.

Dear pain of lolkids,
There are many things old Presto users miss after having migrated to Blink. Even though some of it is retained, it is not placed anywhere an old Presto user would expect to find it. I am afraid Opera Software has been gambling a bit with the patience of these previously faithful users by changing a lot with relatively scarce information to the old users.
(Personally I am glad they released a Opera Mobile Classic for Android, as, even though the speed and rendering of the web pages were better in the new Opera Mobile, they removed a lot of the functionality I felt made the old Opera Mobile the perfect Android browser for me.)
Since there are a lot of us old pre-Blink Opera users out there who do fail to find the way to use the Blink versions fully, I would ask you to try to please abstain from patronising comments for the comments own sake (even if it is tempting, I know), and rather concentrate on constructive contributions.

Not for me. :right:
I note that no one here mentioned the Konami Code yet. Do it in preferences.

Quick question
Is the 'new' version anywhere near as customizable as the old (and better) versions?
