Opera does not detect the web cam with Google Meet

@lukas425 thanks for your suggestion.
Camera and computer's setting are the same on Firefox, where everything works perfectly.
I have tried to change the Google Meet's webcam settings on Opera and Chrome, but nothing has changed.
It's seems strange to me because I use an external camera and the mic of that works correctly. It's just the video not detect from Meet.I don't know...

@markobu Have you tried another program like teams or zoom with Opera? Would be interesting to see if it works on there.
Not sure what else you can try. But what exactly does it say? Just no connection to the camera?

@lukas425 I already tried with Zoom and it works correctly. I tried with Meet and it says "no cameras found". If i go to the settings it says to me to connect a camera, but it is connected and working with other apps or also with Meet on Firefox.
I have also tried to change my account but nothing. It's still not working.
I agree with you that's very strange.

@markobu Try adding Google Meet to the whitelist (exceptions) of the Opera ad blocker.

@ketokelo , didn't work. Same problem here. I put in whitelist in trackers and ads.

@arturdpo Maybe you need to also do this: https://forums.opera.com/topic/34659/opera-linux-browser-h-264-support-through-x264-open-source-codec?_=1614200894401
First you need to download the file from here: https://github.com/iteufel/nwjs-ffmpeg-prebuilt/releases
Hope this works!

Because if you have the same issue in Chrome maybe that could be a reason. Also try the camera if you are not in a meeting and look for the camera settings in your computer. Maybe there is something blocked for certain browsers.
Hope you got your answer.
Thanx -

Hi @sophiagracia,
It works in Firefox and Chrome. I don't know what happened in Opera.

@arturdpo Maybe you have to do what I posted above. It could be some codec issue. If you have any autoplay stopper, you should add Google Meet (or whatever site you are using) to the whitelist, not only to the Opera's whitelist.

I am trying to do that. I've used snap to install Opera.
The path is different.
/snap/opera/current/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/
Am I right?I am getting readonly message to this path.

@arturdpo I think Snap's version has some issues. Try installing Opera from the official repository.
