<![CDATA[Opera does not detect the web cam with Google Meet]]>Good evening everyone,

I have recently installed Opera on my LinuxMint 20 PC.
When I try to use the webcam with Google Meet it tells me that the web cam is not connected. I must say instead that using Firefox there is no problem, while the same problem happens to me with Google Chrome.

If anyone could help me understand how, and if they can, solve this problem it would do me a great favor.

Try installing Opera from the official repository.

I am trying to do that. I've used snap to install Opera.

The path is different.
/snap/opera/current/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/
Am I right?

I am getting readonly message to this path.

It could be some codec issue. If you have any autoplay stopper, you should add Google Meet (or whatever site you are using) to the whitelist, not only to the Opera's whitelist.

Also try the camera if you are not in a meeting and look for the camera settings in your computer. Maybe there is something blocked for certain browsers.

I tried with Meet and it says "no cameras found". If i go to the settings it says to me to connect a camera, but it is connected and working with other apps or also with Meet on Firefox.

I have also tried to change my account but nothing. It's still not working.

Would be interesting to see if it works on there.

Not sure what else you can try. But what exactly does it say? Just no connection to the camera?

Camera and computer's setting are the same on Firefox, where everything works perfectly.

I have tried to change the Google Meet's webcam settings on Opera and Chrome, but nothing has changed.
It's seems strange to me because I use an external camera and the mic of that works correctly. It's just the video not detect from Meet.

I am not sure if this helps but can you go to Google Meets and then go to the camera settings? Maybe it is blocked somehow. I had the same issue on Zoom but on every single browser I used and apparently I once clicked a button that did not allow the camera usage.

Because if you have the same issue in Chrome maybe that could be a reason. Also try the camera if you are not in a meeting and look for the camera settings in your computer. Maybe there is something blocked for certain browsers.
