[Solved] Retain tabs on startup isn't current

Using current version of Opera on Ubuntu, both v. 14 and now v.20.
Regardless of that, when I close the browser and start it again it does not retain the tabs from when I closed it. Instead, it brings back tabs from a week ago or so.
I've used Opera on various platforms for many years, and never seen this behavior on Mac or Windows versions. This has been a problem for about six months, ever since I switched to Ubuntu from Windows. So it seems unique to the Linux version.
Is there some way of forcing the program to update its tab memory? I don't want to have to save the tabs every time I leave.

@JohnnySkeeky Try deleting Last Session, Last Tabs, Current Session, Current Tabs, they may be corrupted.

Could you give me a little more information about where to find Last Session, etc?
Appreciate the help.

@JohnnySkeeky In Opera's profile directory. Check Help > About Opera for the path.
