Hi, just decided to start using Opera for Win10 on my laptop. In bookmarks I've added 3 folders with extra web page links. I've sync'd after logging in. When my browser is up all day I lose the 3 folders of bookmarks. I've logged out and in again and they are history. It's happened a few dozen times now.

Is this a known issue? Thanks for any help. sorry if I've omitted info.

If you stay logged out of Opera Sync, do the remain?

@burnout426 Thanks for the reply. If I log out the same happens when the browser is open during a business day. I've tried everything.

Do a test. Download the Opera installer, launch it, click "options", set "install path" to a folder named "Opera Test" on your desktop, set "install for" to "Standalone installation", uncheck "import data from default browser" and install. Test in that Opera, but do not enable Opera Sync and do not install any extensions?

If you have the same problem there, it might be due to a botched Windows 10 2004 update (uninstall and reinstall of it might fix things) or it might be some other program interfering with Opera.

If it works fine there, enable Opera Sync in it just to see if it breaks things.

Doing those tests should tell you if you have a corrupted Opera profile or messed-up sync (which you can reset at sync.opera.com) or both.

@burnout426 Thanks very much. I'll do that later in the day. I'll get back to you when I finish and share the results.

@burnout426 Ok, I've followed your instructions. I'll keep it open over night and see what happens in the morning. It dawned on me, the three folders I keep losing are ones that I added after I imported bookmarks from Chrome. I did this about a year ago so the bookmarks in Chrome had more when I decided to use Opera as my main browser. So the other thing I'll try if this works is go to my original browser delete all the bookmarks and just import all at once which will include the three folders.

I will keep you posted. It will take a few days before I get back to you with results. Till then thanks for all your help.

Until then I'm tackling another issue. CNN.com loads the annoying vid's automatically so I'm trying to get that to stop!!!!

@burnout426 I lost nothing overnight. So I deleted all bm's and imported them all at once from chrome. Logged into my account and sync'd with my other laptop after I had deleted all the bm's from laptop 2.

Tomorrow if all goes well, I'm going to add the Zoom extention then wait 24 hrs. If all goes well I'll add the last of my extension.
Thanks verymuch for all your help
