Whatsapp: Missing input line in chat

My friend is using the latest Opera "67.0.3575.137" but in Whats-App chats there is no text line to write messages anymore.
He is using iPhone 6 with (latest) iOS 12.4.5 and What's App version 12.20.31.
It looks like it has worked until Opera 66.
I've tried everything around settings, etc. but no chance to find the problem.
Any idea?

Add. info from myself: This latest Opera version works correct with iPhone 8 with latest iOS 13.4.1 and What's app version 2.20.42

Over night What's App updated to 12.20.42 on iOS 6 and now Opera 67.0.3575.137 shows the missing input line in the chats.
Mysterious.
