I have repeatedly downloaded Flash for Opera but can't get it to take.

Hello @kslatta, make sure you download the so-called "Pepper" or PPAPI version of Flash.

If you visit https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ directly from Opera it should give you the correct version.
