Known issue. Already fixed internally. Should be out in new stable build soon.

Not fixed in Opera 64.0.3417.61, the latest build. It's never happened with any previous version but now Speed dial takes 15 seconds before icons appear.

That's the build the bug was introduced in. Need to wait for a newer build.

The same here, I've been wondering for a few days and also uninstalled and reinstalled Opera several times. Hopefully this will be fixed soon.

[Off topic]
For the future:
Instead of the uninstall process, try creating a New profile or use a Portable installation to test any problem and discover if it's related to Opera itself or about your Profile settings.Use the installer, Options, for the portable install.
For another method from your current installation:- Rename you profile, follow the BackUp | Reset link at signature.
or
- Follow the Test profile link.

"Off topic Tip"
Follow the Signature's BackUp | Reset link.
Take the opportunity to start a Backup plan and even create a Template Profile.

Correct, each morning when I turn on my laptop (Windows 7), the opening screen until the Speed Dial icons finally appear ofttimes is close to 25 or more seconds.

This should be a critical hotfix. It makes me get rid of opera and that is the worst case scenario.

@marcin True, I uninstalled it from all my devices and switched to Chrome

@Rinkashikachi That looks the way I'm heading too. Instead of improving Opera, it seems every new build they release makes it worse. I just want a stable browser and recently, Opera hasn't been providing that.
