How can I change the position of the "open a new tab" button shaped as a plus sign?

I'd like to change the position of that little button because I'm used to opening up new tabs on Opera default browser by just moving my cursor all the way up untill it reaches the top bound of the screen and then just move my cursor left and right horizontally to easily aim that button to open up a new tab. But with this GX version, I pretty much have to move the cursor down a bit and aim straight away and this is annoying. Hope I made my problem clear to you guys. Looking for a solution. Thanks.
