Opera Favourites lost with recent Windows 10 update

I have been running Opera 40.0.
I upgraded from Windows 8 to Windows 10 about three months ago and everything worked fine.
Last night Windows 10 did an update and this morning I have lost all my Opera History, Contacts and Favourites.
Where can I look to find my Favourites.
All the "Favourites" files I can find on searching Windows Explorer are empty.
Windows 10 also won't let me log into Outlook from the start screen and repeatedly says I should close the application and log in again or I can continue witha temporary login that won't access my data and will not be retained on logout.Feckin Microsoft !!

Search net for "cannot access my profile after windows 10 update". Note that some solutions are rather hard and not to be attempted before clear understanding, what is wrong. If you're using Microsoft account to sign into your W10, then it is possible that verifying your account data (somewhere in settings) is enough.
