Opera 54.0.2952.71 does not play well with Windows 10 Creators Update 1803

I had to take my laptop in to get a new hard drive because the old one died and the repair man installed Windows 10 Creators Update 1803 onto the new one. Ever since then, Opera has been extremely buggy. Pages either load slowly, not at all (i.e. site can't be reached message) or are displayed oddly. Also upon installing the latest flash version, it would not be registered as installed or enabled at helpx.adobe.com/flash-player. I had to reinstall burnout426 's Always Activate Flash" addon inorder to fix it. I have confirmed that it is indeed a problem with Opera, since I have no problems whatsoever with Firefox. I have tried using VPN, setting WebRTC to default private and public networks instead of use any suitable network interface and Turbo is turned off. I even went so far as to disable my AV and the pages are still loading slowly or I get the 'site can't be reached' error page and it takes several reloads for a page to actually load when I get that error page. And yes, I do have Opera allowed in Windows Firewall for both public and private networks. I really don't want to reset Opera (either by creating a new profile or reinstalling) since when I installed Opera onto the new hard drive I did not copy any profile files from my old installation because I had none. All I did was sign into my Opera account and import my sync data (speed dials, bookmarks and history, no extensions or anything else was synced as far as I know) I added the extensions manually from Opera's and Chrome's web sites. These are extensions that I had before and never had any problems with any of them before lthe installation of Creators Update.

Ok, this is interesting. I tried starting from scratch with a portable version of Opera and only ran into the page problem I described above. Flash was working just fine. However, as soon as I signed into my Opera account, Adobe's help page said that flash was either not installed or not enabled which most definitely not the case. So I attempted to reset my sync data to see if that would clear up the flash problem. Nope. As soon as I signed in to Opera again, the Adobe help page again said there was no flash installed or enabled. Again I had to install the 'Always Activate Flash' addon. I'm all out of ideas here and I definitely do not want to try using a totally new account with a new address. I guess I'll be using Opera a lot less for now until either the Opera devs or MS devs fix the problems.

@slytheringirl did ya get a solid state drive (thats really fast)
or a sata drive (mechanical drive) can ya find out what the RPMs = speed.. 4900 rpm - 5400 rpm 7200 rpm the higher the rpm the faster it is..your old drive should equal the new drive he put in..
just say 'n if it equals less than that old drive maybe thats why ya notice slowness.. -

Some other users have had problems with sync messing up Flash behavior where resetting sync data, starting with a new profile and syncing still doesn't help, but no one has figured out what the deal is. Can you use JSONEdit to compare copies of "Preferences" and "Locale State" files ("secure preferences" file too if it's there) in a fresh profile (fresh USB install will work) before and after you sync? (close down Opera before you copy the files somewhere to test). You can name the Preferences_before and Preferences_after for example if you want.
Using a diff tool to compare the files might even be better.
It's possible the issue is in some other profile file, but Preferences and Local State are good ones to check first.
If you can find differences related to flash settings in the files, that should tell you how to fix things when it happens an then it can be reported.

just say 'n if it equals less than that old drive maybe thats why ya notice slowness..I got a sata 5400 rpm which I had before. Ssd would have been too much to get from the repair shop.
Burnout426, thanks for the advice, but I'm not about to go messing around with any files right now. I just got my laptop back a few days ago & I'm leary about playing around with anything on it since that's what has lead to the downfall of the last hd and many others. I've decided to just leave it be for now & use Firefox for most internet stuff. Also there has been many complaints regarding Creators Update & slow internet/slow machines. It would seem best for me to wait for Windows to update & hope for the best since I can't afford another trip to the shop or get a better machine at this point in time.
