Since that is the default setting it seems likely it defaults to it with every update/install.
I was curious about why you chose to turn it off? I have tried so many browsers and Opera is my favorite except for the lag I see playing YouTube videos. Sick of the stuttering that NONE of the other browsers ever show as a problem.
Hoped maybe your post related to that as I had seen mention of Hardware Accel but so far nothing has helped.

I'm running Windows 7. Opera seems more "stable" with HA off on my system. I've had a few instances in the past with the system freezing.
Yes I realize that there could be many different reasons. But Opera, for me, works just as well with the option off.
